Pu'u Hou, Mauna Kea, Hawaii: Pu`u is Hawaiian for hill or cinder cone. The cone is 13,460ft from sea level and is dotted with an array of the finest telescopes in the world. A snowboarder spoke to the photographer when he finished his decent of the volcano in the last rays of daylight, “This morning I surfed in five-foot waves at Pohoiki. My life is over, I've done everything now, I surfed and snowboarded today. This is a dream come trueâ€. (Photographer: Leigh Hilbert)
