What's it like at Alto del Padre?
Alto del Padre - Mountain Lodge. This is a huge backcountry area in the middle of the Chilean Central Andes. We´ve been working & exploring the spot since 4 years ago, from winter to summer time, searching for the most unique & perfect terrain conditions for backcountry ski. Our tour operator "Suntrip Adventures" are the guys who explore & guide into the mountains every day. They are offering different ways to ski at the reserve. From touring to Heliski we currently have access to many different faces & valleys, like the "San Gabriel de los Andes Valley" (an awesome spot), south faces like The Chemo Nevada Face" at 3.000 M.A.S.L.
There is a small mountain lodge with all the mountain facilities: warm water, internet, Sat Tv, bar, etc.There are shared rooms & suites (under construction). It is a boutique ski operation where only small groups can access per day. Backcountry access by AT, snowmobile or heliski. Alto del Padre :
An extensive area for both randonne, heliski, snowmobiles, etc. Of winter activities, the sector has perhaps one of the most dynamic extensions in South America for practicing free-skiing and a couple of hours from Santiago SCL.
Skiing was definitely outstanding. There are a number of places to invent a thousand lines, Power POW steep lines. As you see, point .....
Summer is definitely a mecca for downhill, trekking, whitewater kayak, fly-fishing. The sector offers many places with very cheap local cuisine; a symbiotic place for mountain lovers. Let's see what happens in the future during the evolution of this magnificent place .....
The offer is mild (ed?) for transportation and lodging, but the Chileans are always ready to receive visits with Chilean wine and a roast lamb Palo.
